How ready are you to let go of your past?
You have imagined a lot of times, opening your skull and pouring away all the black dirty slime inside. How determined are you to do that?
It’s like removing a tumor? You’ll miss it when it’s gone? What if I tell you can’t look fully forward and believe yourself unless you really really convince yourself that you are not only not looking back, but also won’t even want to look back in the future.
Isn’t it escaping the reality of your past? You might call it that. But who cares what you name it. If you are really going to get over your past, be clean and fresh and full of future instead of the past, maybe that’s the cost you pay. You really leave what’s in the past, to stay in the past and not interfere with the future.
Couldn’t you just get over it with removing or destroying all signs of its existence? Might be possible. But of what I have known from myself it will keep flashing back. Logically I’d like to do that and convinced, but emotionally it feels like cutting a part of yourself. Literally cutting it.
